Description
Specifications of design and materials:
- Leather is used for the soles.
- Top part of the slippers are made of 3 parts of felt making an organic shape, which are “zig-zag”-sewn together then straight stitched to the bottom.
- Insoles are fixed by fabric hook-and-loop fastener inside the slippers.
- Made by me in Finland.
- Weight: 0.3kg / 0.7 lbs.
The design story:
I started designing these slippers recalling Japanese traditional wooden clogs, called “GETA”. A pair of GETA’s shape from the top is a square, symmetrical so that you don’t have to care which (right or left) pair of GETA you must put on your foot. So these slippers are also symmetrical that it’s easy to put on for everybody in the sleepy mornings!
How it’s made:
- The top part of the bag is double layered and a piece of plywood is in between above the handle for reinforcement, then sewn together
- “zig-zag” sewn at the both sides of the body, and dark blue / black felt tapes are glued on the seams outside the body.
- Press-cutting of felt is done by Finnish company according to my design, and all other works are done by me in my studio in Rovaniemi, Finland.
Care instruction:
- Hand-wash only by sopy warm water (under 30ºC). Not machine washable.
- The felt will be worn and pill same as wool sweater over time. You can “shave” its surface by a sharp razor then it will become like new.

Industrial wool felt is a non-woven cloth that is produced by matting, condensing and pressing woolen fibers by machines under high temperature and pressure. The surface is smooth, soft and comfortable, and the structure is dense and strong. Wool felt is an eco-friendly, natural material.
